Moon Boat Renegade Puppet Theatre
Our Troupe
Here are the ten little fairy folk -
Running along, running along -
Who take the oars of warm brown wood
That lift and dip, lift and dip,
To carry the boat, the golden boat, across the silvery sea.

Sarah Hilvert
Puppet and Set Designer/Puppeteer
Sarah has been creating Waldorf puppet plays for children for 5 years.
She has always been at home on stage — sharing stories, dance, song, and charm with audiences young and old.
She is also our seamstress, painter, and fiber-arts-sculptor, bringing many of our marionettes, shadow puppets, and sets to life.
Martha Newman
Puppet and Set Designer/Puppeteer
Martha is the charming creatrix of our most ludicrous ideas.
Her colorful background spans museum exhibition design, set design, farming, linguistics, teaching and performing.
She loves to sing and gleefully participates in and organizes many song circles.
She is happiest when weaving visual stories of magic together in collaboration with her team.

Cole Haltom

Cole is craftsman of wood and light.
As a professional carpenter, he specializes in building tiny homes and van conversions.

On festival nights, his artistry shifts to the sky, where he sends out projection visuals to inspire dance and music in color and motion.

She is an avid crafter and a great organizer of human beings and their projects!
In her daily life, she is a practicing doula — she is passionate about working with families and their little ones.

Dan Hulse

Dan is a professional carpenter with 10 years of experience.
He’s worked at the Oregon Country Fair since 2019 and feels like it’s one of the few places in the world were he can truly be himself.
He loves acting and being silly, be it on the dance floor, in contact improv, or leading Dungeons and Dragons campaigns.

Max Kant
Musician/Puppeteer
Max is a two-handed maker of sounds and melodies.
A musician since childhood, he plays drums, guitar, banjo and piano, and even pretends to play the accordion, when needed.
In his personal life he is an avid gardener, an aspiring chef and an amateur naturalist.

Andrew Sechrist
Musician/Puppeteer
Andrew is a seaworthy gentleman.
He’s flashed and flogged more than most twice his age. If you're looking for a new bard on your damned ship--here's your man.
He's a gentle and very lovable friend of all he meets. from sea to shining sea.
